The district of Selongey (3712 inhabitants) is one of the 43 districts of Côte dOr. It is composed of 8 villages : Boussenois, Chazeuil, Foncegrive, Orville, Sacquenay, Selongey, Vernois-les-Vesvres, and Véronnes. Selongey, with the districts of Is sur Tille and Grancey le Château-Neuvelle, together form "le Pays des Trois Rivières". The 3 rivers are : Venelle, Tille and Ignon.
Whether one turns to the east or the west, one is transported by the vista of the wooded slopes of the foothills opening out into the seemingly endless acres of the cereal crops of Dijon.
